Navigating Your Career Journey: DTA Careers Development Month June 202

Thursday 16-05-2024 - 17:02

June 2024 marks an exciting milestone for doctoral researchers and alumni within the Doctoral Training Alliance (DTA) community. It's the DTA Careers Development month, a dedicated period designed to empower individuals at every stage of their academic journey, from pre- to post-PhD submission, in navigating their career paths with confidence and clarity.

Throughout this month, a diverse range of online workshops and sessions are being offered to support your career development. Whether you're exploring career options, honing your skills, or seeking guidance on the post-PhD transition, there's something for everyone. The DTA Team is collaborating with sector experts from organisations such as Periscope Programmes, Coventry University Talent Team, Innovate UK's ICURe programme and a US-based Medical Science Liaison from Ardelyx. Additionally, researcher development colleagues and academics from across the UA and DTA networks are contributing their insights and expertise to the programme.

You’ll find full details and can sign up for sessions, via the What's On & Events page at the Doctoral Training Alliance website. Here, you'll be able to search the list of sessions, including opportunities to hear from current DTA researchers as part of the Peer Led Learning series on giving your first lecture as a PhD student, offering valuable insights from those who have walked the same path.

Remember, it's never too early to start thinking about your career trajectory. Your PhD journey is not just about academic rigor; it's about embracing opportunities, developing skills, and shaping your future. Take advantage of the support available through your university and training programme networks to empower yourself and realize your full potential. Join us this June and embark on the next chapter of your career journey with confidence.
