This popular academic writing course is based on a unique practice-based 7-step strategy developed by Dr. Catriona Ryan.
It enhances traditional approaches to academic writing. Students are encouraged to work on a thesis chapter or paper throughout the workshop. This session has helped many PhD researchers over the years to overcome writer’s block and build confidence as academic writers. The workshop focuses on argument construction and removing blocks that generate writing apprehension. Participants must bring a thesis chapter or writing project, as the session is practice-based. It goes beyond writing skills, offering academic guidance in developing a comprehensive discursive framework. There is also an emphasis on the importance of self-compassion in the writing process.
