Interdisciplinary reading group inaugural session - Friday 12 July - 09:00-09:30
For the upcoming academic year’s DTA Training Programme 2024/25, we will be hosting a series of online reading groups, run in collaboration with DTA researchers and supervisors to discuss interesting and thought-provoking material in relevant research fields.
Since the research projects of our DTA Future Societies Researchers revolve around the UN Sustainable Development Goals, every reading group session would focus on a particular goal or goals.
We feel that Summer School would be a great opportunity to launch and introduce our Interdisciplinary Reading Group, so here is our first meeting. This first session will focus on the SDG 5: Gender Equality and Dr. Emma Cowley, DTA3 Project Manager, will be presenting the following paper:
After Emma has presented the paper, participants will be welcome to ask questions or make comments. Participants are requested to read the above paper in advance so that they can get the most out of the discussion. A hard copy of the article will also be provided during this session.
In addition to fostering a sense of community among PGRs, reading groups are a great way to discuss research papers to gain different perspectives and ideas, which is hard to achieve when reading alone.
